BitLeap Demonstrates Data Backup Technology at PETE&C

Feb. 13, 2007 2:05pm

Hershey, PA - BitLeap will be exhibiting LeapServ, the world’s first remotely managed server providing offsite data backup and recovery, at the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, February 11-13, 2007.

BitLeap, based in Carlisle, PA, is currently providing backup services for Capital Area Intermediate Unit 15 and Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4. BitLeap has developed an innovative method of bit differential analysis which allows schools and other business to very efficiently store backup data, and also makes BitLeap more affordable than other solutions.

“BitLeap’s backup technology allows school districts in PA to have access to a managed backup solution that offers increased flexibility and value over their current backup procedures,” said BitLeap’s CEO, Guy Suter.

“Many education institutions as well as businesses are starting to look for alternatives to traditional tape and even disk backup solutions. An automated, extremely secure and very fast recovery system like BitLeap’s LeapServ is an increasingly popular alternative,” said BitLeap’s CEO, Guy Suter.

Utilizing BitLeap’s backup technology gives school districts the advanced ability to efficiently retain as many versions of their data files as they would like, instead of being limited to a typical two week tape backup history.

“BitLeap’s data backup technology brings cutting edge backup capabilities to our schools,” said Scott Powner, the Midwestern Intermediate Unit’s Director of Management/Technology.

BitLeap partnered with Prismworks Technology, a leading network integration company, to host a welcome party for conference attendees on Sunday evening. Over 200 guests attended the hospitality event. Attendees enjoyed live entertainment by Shea Quinn of The Luv Gods and an opportunity to mingle with fellow conference attendees.

“We were excited to partner with Prismworks to host this fun evening and we enjoyed the opportunity to kick-off PETE&C,” said BitLeap’s CEO, Guy Suter.
