Who is BitLeap?

Company Overview

BitLeap®, LLC began several years ago as an idea among two of the founding partners, Lindsay Snider and Guy Suter. The idea was that small and medium sized businesses could benefit from technology products and services that were custom tailored for their critical technical needs but did not require large IT budgets or knowledge to implement.

This idea was refined into a tangible product called the LeapServ over the course of the first year with the help of the third founding partner, Ian Berry. BitLeap moved into the Murata Business Center in August of 2004 to setup a product development and operations center. After product testing began, BitLeap secured a low interest R&D loan from the state of Pennsylvania through Ben Franklin Technology Partners in January 2005.

BitLeap was pleased to announce that Kurt Suter joined the company’s management team as CFO in February 2005; this move increased the company’s financial strength, growth potential, and internal business experience.

BitLeap released the LeapServ® product line, including an advanced web-based customer interface in July 2005. LeapServs are remotely managed network appliance servers capable of conducting advanced automatic offsite data backups to BitLeap’s data storage network, connecting locations through FlexTunnel VPN connections and running many third party applications.
