Can You Backup Microsoft Windows System State?
You can currently backup System State using third-party software or just use the software that Microsoft® has built into Windows®. When setting up this software simply specify a location on the server that is being backed-up by your LeapServ or back it up directly to a share on the LeapServ. Below you will find instructions on how you can setup NTBackup (the software that is free and comes with Windows) to backup your System State.
Setting Up NTBackup
Go to Start > Run, type ntbackup and then click the OK button. The following screen should appear.

Click on Advanced Mode link. After you click on the link the following window should appear.

Click the Backup tab, and then check the box beside the System State item in the tree in the left pane. Next fill in the full UNC path to your LeapServ’s backup share in the Backup media or file name field (you may need to contact BitLeap support and have them create this share for you). Below is a screenshot of how this may look.

Next Click on the Start Backup button.

Within this window click on Schedule and the following should appear.

Click Yes and save the selections to a location on your local server. After that is done the following should appear.

This is the account information that will be used to complete the backup of the System State. This account needs to have at least Backup Operator rights. After filling in the information on this window click OK. The following window should appear.

Fill in the name you wish to refer to this job as, in our example we used Nightly System State Backup. Click on Properties and the following should appear.

In this example, we set the job to run every day at 6:35 PM. Set the schedule to your liking and then click the OK button.

You will be prompted for account information again, enter in the information again and click OK. The below window should appear.

Click OK again. Now go to the Schedule Jobs tab and mouse over the N icon. You should see the name of the backup job you just set up.
